About bamboo
Bamboo is a natural material. Each piece is unique and will vary slightly in appearance. Colour variations occasionally occur in bamboo throughout its life, however, this is a natural characteristic and not a product defect. Bamboo can develop cracks due to rough handling and changes in weather. All our bamboo products are treated with a varnish providing a good coating on the surface of the product, giving it a soft sheen finish and protecting it from moisture. In saying that, as it is a natural product, the bamboo should not be washed or be left wet for a long period of time.
DO NOT submerge bamboo in water. Only wipe with damp cloth then dry with a tea towel.
If your products do go mouldy, to clean use distilled vinegar to rub off the mould and leave it to sit for an hour. Wipe the area clean with water and allow surface to dry.
Glass Care
Please fill jars with caution, the heavy impact of some ingredients especially 500g fettuccine/spaghetti could break the bottom of the jar. Be careful when using sharp or hard objects in the glass. The glass is fragile and it may crack upon impact. Glass jars are dishwasher safe (without the vinyl label and bamboo lid) but hand washing is recommend.

The first thing I do is take the silicon ring off the lid, that makes taking the lid on and off so much easier otherwise it’s too sticky. I use these large jars for laundry powder so you can get away with not having them air tight. It’s a great size if you have the space, that way you’re not topping the powder up every other week. I do 3 loads a day so with the jars now it’s a nice streamlined process and they look beautiful.
